Assignment 1 - Heaven and Hell Final Images

Utilize the critique from class to rework and refine two of your images to a final presentation state. You should have one "Heaven" and one "Hell" ready to present next class. These images should each be accompanied by titles. The pair of images should also be accompanied by your statement of intent. I would recommend that you edit and amend your original project statement to correspond with your current project direction. Print your titles and statement of intent together on one page to present with your images. Please print your final two images on the inkjet printers in the Mac Labs. Be prepared for the fact that you may need to print a number of times before you get acceptable results. I warn you against waiting to print at the last minute.

Assignment 2 - Memorize Keyboard Commands Set 2

Memorize the second set of keyboard commands posted on the blog. Be ready for a quiz.

Assignment 3 - Continue Research for 2nd Artist Presentation

Due: October 26th, 9AM
Continue your research of another digital imaging artist. This time be sure to include in your research at least one source which contains critical commentary about the work of the artist in question. Additionally, one of your sources should be from a print based source (book, journal, magazine). Collect a minimum of 8 images of work of the artist. This time your presentation should be tempered by a healthy skepticism for the perspectives given by your various sources. Don't be afraid to voice your own opinion and question the views and comments of others.

Assignment 4 - Begin Impossible Image Project

Due: October 12th, 9AM
Shoot imagery this week to pursue your stated intention for the Impossible Image Project. This assignment is fundamentally about making image composites. The images you bring in are the parts bin needed to make said composites. Next class we will work in class on putting together disparate imagery and making the look as is they belong together. When you are shooting your images, try to remember to work on consistent color balance and lighting angles. This will make it much easier to credibly combine your source imagery into finished works. This series will require you to make eight finished images. Each image should include a different Impossible Image.
